first and foremost, we finished the bathroom!!!!! its done, and we are moved in, and its the best thing ever. i dont have to move a potty seat every time i need the bathroom. rylie wont unspool my floss. i dont have to pick up bath toys to shower. its the most wondrous thing ever and i dont know how we survived for 9 months without it. but it is marvelous. there are lots of pics here about putting the vanity in and making it and all that, but in the end its done and usable and so so beautiful.
we are now taking a break till the beginning of the year and any other project we do will be a just for fun project not anything too crazy.
rex is walking now! he is still toddling a lot, but he is walking more than crawling which is super great. he can say momma and dada. he is good as saying all done and boo!. he loves to play peek a boo still. he absolutely loves the abc song. we have an alphabet book and he loves to find it and bring it to us so we can sing him the song. its so fun. he also loves the lift the flap book. mostly because its a book full of peek a boos. he will lift a flap and say boo! rex wants to be a big kid so bad. he wants everything the big kids have. if you give them a cup, he wants one. if they get a pancake he better get one. he will join them shortly. we are one step closer (literally) with him walking so thats exciting.
rylie is doing great. she is currently in a phase where she is so sad to do things without ryker. she is so mad she cant go to preschool or swimming lessons. i feel so bad but literally nothing starts for her (that isnt parent and tot) until she is at least 3. soon love, soon. we have decided we will have her and ryker in swim lessons for the session at the beginning of the year, hopefully that will help her feel a little more involved. we went to run and errand the other day and i asked if she wanted to come with me. she said yes! but ryker come too! i tried to get just her to come saying it was an errand for just her and me, but she was insistent. now i didnt take ryker, so as i was putting her in the car she was just in tears. i asked her what was wrong and she said ryker needs to be in his chair. why rylie? because i love him! it was so sweet and so sad and so funny. she is a sweetheart. she says the funniest things. once she was playing trains with ryker while i was trying to get her ready for the day. i put her hair up and told her she was beautiful! she said no! im not beautiful, im a train. okay love you can be a train. hahahaha. i have some great stories for her, but they are not suitable to put out to the public. but she is a curious girl with a witty mouth. there is Reed in there somewhere haha. another night i was trying to get her in her pajamas, she tends to take off her underwear with her pants every night, so i was trying to get her to put them back on before her jammies. she proudly looks at me and says i dont need underwear, im beautiful. bahaha yes, yes you are, but beautiful people need to wear underwear too. that girl. i just love her.
ryker is doing so great. he started preschool and is just loving it. it is a great time for me to have some one on one time with rylie (since rex naps while ryker is gone) he always is so excited to see mrs tiffany at school and tell her about what he has been up to. he is in another round of swimming lessons, but will stop till the new year after this month due to all the holidays. ryker is a very sensitive boy. i love him dearly. everytime either justin or i leave the house, or on bad days dont cuddle long enough by his bed at night he gets sad. but i dont want to miss you! he says. its so sweet and we try to reassure him. he is fine after a min or 2 but i always feel bad when i leave him and he says that. when we finished the bathroom, the next morning ryker comes in and wants to see it. justin and i are still being lazy in bed so we say sure go for it. he comes back out, wow! good job dad! justin says well thanks bud! thinking he was praising him for the beautiful bathroom. ryker then continues, you cleaned up all your tools! bahahahahaha i laughed so hard. not good job on the bathroom, but good job cleaning up your mess. haha. oh i loved it. it was great.
ryker still loves to quote movies. his current favorite is from the little mermaid 2 when morgana says stop criticizing me! he doesnt know what it means, but he keeps using that word and it just makes me smile haha.
ryker participated in his first primary program this last week. he went up there with no fuss and sat in his spot. he said his one line perfectly into the microphone. he however did not sing at all to any of the songs. which is fine. he was sitting up on the stand so thats a win for his first year. he did however do all the actions to the song the wise man and the foolishman. he didnt need to do them as no one else was. as a sunbeam being right upfront, everyone could see and it was fun to watch. either way i was proud and he earned his sucker for being such a big boy.
justin and i are doing great. nothing to report really. work goes between crazy weeks and normal weeks. we are excited to have a little bit of time before our next big project. lately the kids have been wandering into our room in the middle of the night wanting to snuggle. of course thats allowed, but its gotten out of hand. we had a firm not in mom and dads bed policy and i dont know how that slipped, but we need to get better at it. they still come in every night, but i only let them stay a min or 2 before putting them back to bed, if they come back again they can sleep on the floor next to us like before. so its a work in progress, but i would really like to sleep through the night again.
beez came to visit for a weekend. we kept it pretty chill. just hung out here at home. but we had a lot of fun playing. auntie beez is pretty fun!
