Fall Things

Im getting there... every other month is still pretty decent. granted i had to tell myself to blog everyday this week before it happened, but it still counts! the last 2 months have been fun. its been halloween and thanksgiving. I love fall time for all the holidays and celebrating. Granted its more difficult with 4 month old twins... but we are learning and adjusting! thats how its all going to be now right? just getting used to what is our new normal.

We had some great visits from family. Carlee, Beez came out to visit more. we love having family close by. i love the help and have enjoyed having family close again. Halloween was great. Ryker was Catboy, Rylie was Owelette from PJ Masks. Rex was going to be Gekko, but we could not him to try on the costume for anything. or any costume. the boy refused to participate. haha. The twins were candy bars. I saw these costumes years ago and have always loved them. i was so excited to have boy girl twins and be able to do the almond joy and mounds costume. still so great.

Thanksgiving was fun! We found out early november that we could get the time off to go to broomfield. it was a 2 day trip, so we left on thursday and drove all day, and got there friday evening. it was crazy and hectic. the older 3 did great and the twins did alright. for a first road trip it was decent and a 2 day trip was stretching everyone. But we had a blast meeting all our Aunts and Uncles on my side. everyone got to officially meet the twins. I got to meet Kelson, Alicias little one. All the cousins (missing Ashlyn and Jocelyn  ;(  ) were there to play. it was a full house at moms, but it was great. We had 4/7 participate in the pie eating contest. mostly it was lots of fun, lots of food, and many memories.

update on the family!

Ryker - is still loving school. I love seeing all he learns from his work and he gets better at letters, numbers, and reading everyday. it makes me so happy and he is loving it. His teacher is great and the school is awesome. He is more and more like dad everyday.

Rylie - wishes she could go to school like Ryker, but is enjoying time at home. she is learning to play better with Rex and she is really developing her own personality. she is a girl through and through with a love of unicorns, mermaids, babies, and pretty dresses. she loves her air bows and wants to pick her own outfits. She is the best little mommy and often helps if one of the twins are upset. mom the twins need me! she says. it melts my heart and i love her so so much.

Rex - he is doing alright. he has gotten exceptionally clingy lately. He was doing good after the twins were born but the last month or 2 it has getting extreme. we try very hard to give him undivided attention, but it is hard sometimes depending on when he wants it and what we are doing. he is doing good, we are just trying to work through this phase. something i love about it is he is still our best cuddler. I love his snuggles.

Rayce - He is such a joy. he has outgrown his tummy issues and is now so happy all the time. he loves to smile a wide mouthy grin and laugh often. i just love those sounds. he turns on his side often and has rolled over a few times, though not enough to be consistent. but technically he can go back to front and front to back. he loves to grab at toys on the floor gym. he is a big flirt and loves to smile at everyone who looks at him. at 4 months we started them on oatmeal. he loves it and didnt take long to get used to eating with a spoon. he is my big boy! at 4 months there was almost a 2 lbs difference between him and Radlee. I can see that gap only getting bigger. He sleeps pretty good. He will wake up 2 sometimes 3 times a night but is great about sleeping in between. his naps are decent, we are still trying to figure out how to consistently have long naps, though we are also working on unswaddling so i know thats not helping. lots to learn in the first few months!

Radlee - i just love her. she is such a happy baby. he loves to smile and giggle. she loves to talk to you. she will cuddle and babble at you and will talk for minutes on end. i love it. we will see if she is as chatty as Rylie. she can also roll when she wants to but doesnt do it often. she has been  a little slower at this than rayce, but she is learning just fine. she also loves to grab the toys to play with and of course everything goes directly to her mouth. i am pretty sure they are teething a bit. nothing close to the surface, but things are moving. we have lots of fingers in the mouth and lots of drool on them both. plus a few sleepless nights lately that are really taking a toll on mom. ugh... she still doesnt like her oatmeal as much. i am still struggling to get her to eat everynight, but im trying! maybe ext month when we start other foods with more flavor she will be a little better. we will see... but i keep trying! she has become my inconsistent sleeper and i would love for her to go longer stretches again.

Justin - he is doing great at work. He has been contracted out to Aera and has loved the experience and contacts he has made. He still tries to go to KSI every friday so that he can keep up with whats going on there. He is still having issues with his eye. I dont remember how much i have mentioned before, but during the reno when we were getting the ND house ready to sell he started to get blurry vision right on the focus of his left eye. not good. we saw a dr there and they said that there was blood and some trauma and there was not a lot to do about it. that was unfortunate to hear. he relys on his vision and it had him pretty worried. well now here in CA we found a dr that helped. when it gets worse they give him a shot to help stop the bleeding and get rid of residue. it has helped a ton and we were thrilled to see some progress. we had a snafu with insurance and had to change Drs. the new dr took one flat pic of his eye and said yep, its stable and will always be bad. sorry. um no... not okay with that answer its his vision your talking about!!!!! this happened to be the day before we were supposed to leave for thanksgiving. so i convinced justin to walk in to his original dr and see if they could squeeze him in thurs morning before we left. he went in and they said they would see him! we are definitely willing to pay out of pocket if it means he is getting treatment. this is important and we will make it work. though that means we didnt leave for the first leg of our broomfield trip will about noon and it was a very long day. getting into a hotel at 11 pm with 5 littles was crazy.

Dee - I am doing good! i am mostly keeping track of all of the people above and making sure normal things get done like changing into daytime clothes, baths at least twice a week, and everyone is fed hopefully something good for them. I have had some tremendous help watching the kids as i have run different errands each week and i am so grateful. our ward is awesome! oh! justin is called as the cubmaster. he is excited for his calling and i am grateful that it only takes him from bedtime once a month. I am called to help with the program each week as well as the wards social media. the hope is to get everyone involved and keep everyone informed of activities. i am kinda making this calling up myself, so heres hoping it goes well! the social media stuff will start beginning of the year with the new 2 hr schedule. lots of changes!
