I will give a brief update on what i think happened and some fun stories, haha but mostly its going to be pictures. enjoy!
Justins birthday! Happy 30 to you! It was nice and simple. we had a fun helicopter cake thanks to rykers idea. it was fun.
So the renovation is doing well. we finished the siding on the house and it looks so good! justin did amazing work. I am so proud of him always. We started again on the bathroom with new vigor! Justin textured and painted while I was away. plus painted the downstairs hallway and put a door and new light in my laundry room. its so great. he painted a few other places that we had patched throughout the house. basically he did lots of clean up from our 2 half projects. but we are done with siding stuff! and now just working on the bathroom. last week he started the vanity and we are ready for paint tonight. it looks so stunning!!!! have i mentioned justin is amazing? because he is. i am so impressed with all he has been able to do and how exact it has been. holy cow he is awesome. he would work in the garage and i have been in the bathroom finishing up work on the shower. i sealed all the corners with caulking and made them all smooth. i still need to pain around the trim and seal the floor/mosaic. but it has been awesome for us both to be working on something.
a little kink in our house work plans, lately ryker and rylie have been the biggest pains to get to bed. we practically have to sit there until they fall asleep. ryker says he is scared of the smoke detector and needs justin to stay by him till he falls asleep. rylie refuses to stay in her bed with multiple potty trips or she has to have another hug, or needs a drink, anything to stay out of bed. i would just close the door and let them do whatever till they fall asleep, but that makes it worse! and rylie will just come out anyway. they peek out the door and keep opening and closing it im nervous its going to wake up rex who already is in a bad sleeping mood. im pretty sure molars are coming... he is cranky!
plus it used to be the rule that the kids could come in with us if they were scared at night. of course that is still available to them, but they are abusing the privilege, they are in our room by 6 every morning and kick the bed/dresser/whatever because they are bored or they ask to have a phone to watch nursery rhymes. basically both justin and i are tired of it and are ready to buckle down. if they are scared they can still come in, but its going to be for a few min, not all night. and in the morning same deal. go back to your room like your supposed to. i need my space back! rant over. hopefully...
ryker has a few things that have become routine for him. he loves to make deals. if i eat 2 bites then i get a candy deal? eh. sometimes bud, how about you eat all your dinner? we are learning the art of negotiating young haha. ryker loves to give justin a toy or book to take to work to keep him safe. its so adorable and justin goes right along with it. he loves to say hi to his shadows whenever we go for walks, he still loves the park. He is getting so big! last week we were doing our bedtime routine and he told us no! im going to read the book tonight. he went through the pages and made up his own story to go with the slides on each page, but it was so dang cute. plus it made it easy for us! we hardly had to participate haha. he starts preschool this next week. he is super excited.
while we were at my parents house, during sacrament meeting on fast sunday ryker was leaning against me. its during the sacrament so its super quiet (except for my noisy kids of course.) and he hears my stomach grumble. he (loudly) asks, mom was that your tummy? yep, sure was. thanks bud im very hungry haha.
he loves to make friends. he tells us all the time you are my friend! a few times when i turn off his show or help him give a toy back that he took he frowns at me and says mom, im mad at you.... but your still my friend. gah! i love this kid. he is hilarious.
rylie is so cute i just dont know what to do. every morning she has to pick her bow and that will coordinate her outfit. or not, you know somedays are just not as put together. but in general her bow decides her outfit. she is still super independant. she has to try it all herself. putting on shoes, buckling her carseat, we cannot even try until she does first. mostly only irritating when we have to go somewhere quickly. she is starting to say great things too. while on our roadtrip to my parents house we were watching the jungle book. they have seen it before and enjoy it. she starts getting worried at a certain part (i cant remember) and asks mom! wheres ugly? what happned to ugly? bahaha it took a minute for me to realize she meant mowgli. so close ladybug. so close. but we are working on it. she is only 2.
rex is doing great. still doesnt have a lot of interest in walking. he is a super fast crawler. like i have to hurry to beat him somewhere. while at grandmas we learned to crawl up the stairs! also very quickly. on multiple occasions i went to grab something for one of the other kids and come back to sit down to realize he made it all the way upstairs. gah! after quite a few tumbles we put up some barriers. we started with just boxes, but then he would climb on the box and so we had to double layer them. i felt bad for making the room so cluttered for my parents but my mom did purchase a pet gate that we could put around the stairs. that worked well. sorry mom and dad! he has never been an awesome sleeper, but he has been okay. at least he still sleeps through the night. but sometimes we fight naps and then they get short changed. ugh. frustrating if its also a day that rylie decides to fight a nap. but man that smile! just makes me so happy. i love when he smiles and laughs. its just so great.
justin and i are doing great. at both reunions we were able to talk a little about what we were doing with the house and whatnot. my grandad reed even joked around, if i ever have a question, well just ask justin! everyone was super impressed. even friends here are impressed with how much we are doing on our own. i was just telling a friend that we are ready to paint our vanity and she said oh! did you get it as raw wood to paint? or are you just painting it a different color? um... no. justin got sheets of plywood and built it. basically from scratch. the surprise on their faces is always what makes me so proud of my dear spouse. im seriously so lucky to have married him and he can do all of this.

(laugh please, that name is funny especially if you know we love fast and furious so much.)
