okay, so i kept telling myself that the reason i was not writing anything about october was that nothing really happened. then in november i decided that it wasnt worth it till after thanksgiving. now here we are, 2 weeks into december and i am finally willing to admit to myself that i lied. we did plenty in october and november and had a great (albeit sick) thanksgiving, and we are really enjoying the 2 weeks of the christmas season so far.
so because i waited so long, of course I am not going to remember much, but hopefully i can tell a picture story as well as remind myself whats been going on. then i will feel better till january rolls around. so first off, in October, auntie beez came out to visit. we love our auntie beez and it was great for her to be with the kids. we went to a fun cook out at the Alders. helped the kids roast hot dogs and marshmallows. let me tell you, they had quite the spread for s'mores. i will need to take notes for next time i do something like that. they had thin mint type cookies, fudge stripped, cookies n cream chocolate and regular chocolate, chocolate covered graham crackers. it was super yummy. the kids mostly ate cheetos and the bun but thats okay. other than that it was a pretty chill visit with lots of playing. we did go to the park at the school over the weekend and made sure auntie beez saw all our new tricks.
over the weekend i had my usual weekly clean of the fish tank (remember we have 2 female guppies, a molly, and a snail. ) and once i get the fish out and start to suck out the water, i see something moving in the bottom. its a little baby guppy! so so so tiny and mostly transparent. now im a little shocked because our male guppy died like 2 and a half weeks ago. looks like the females guppies used then abused him and he didnt make it. RIP fin diesel. throughout the next day or 2 i tried to separate the fry from the guppies so they wouldnt get eaten, but since both were apparently pregnant and in labor, we ended up with 25-30 baby fry swimming around, this is a 5 gallon tank. its not that big. we expected most to not make it. by the end of the week we were down to 12. now officially we still have 6 from the original batch. the molly didnt make it. maybe ate one too many guppies... oops. she was fine in the morning then i looked in the afternoon one day and she was belly up in the plants. same with our second guppy female. she didnt make it either. so now we have the snail, starburst our guppy from our original tank, and 6 baby fry. they are now 2 months old and getting to be an okay size but still very small. our female guppy shocked us once again by producing more fry. now im shocked because that means that any male baby would be ready to go by 3 weeks old. i still think thats getting eaten size, but im no fish. so we are enjoying our little fish tank and the kids love to feed them.
not much else has happened in october except halloween prep. we had ryker be Chase from paw patrol. Rylie was elsa, and rex was a very warm Winnie the Pooh. we had our ward halloween party where they did the trunk or treat. the kids loved it. rex was cranky and went home just before, but i took the older 2 around and they had the best time. then halloween day we had the trick or treat trail in downtown where the kids can go trick or treating down all the businesses. it was cold but super fun. the kids enjoyed it. and then of course halloween night we were kind of trick or treated out, so we went to a party at the Amsburys which was so great and took the kids up and down the street. it was fun. Ryker helped at their door to pass out candy. he was really good about it! once there were a lot of kids and someone took over a bit because they were all teenagers and he is 4... that made him a little sad. but it was getting late so we had him help out 2 more times then we headed home to bed. but long story short they had a great halloween and loved the celebrations and decorations.
I got started with this blog a few weeks ago, and then everything changed even more. so its been even longer since i updated. I know I ended at halloween, but i am going to rush through details till now then spend a few posts just uploading pictures.
november was good, mostly just thanksgiving stuff. we went down tuesday night to my parents place because i had an appointment to get a horn removed on my head on wed afternoon. then came home on sunday. lots of great family time and lots of pie. my fave. the only downside was through this whole vacation, we were all sick. justin and i felt the cold coming as we were driving down tuesday. poor rex and rylie got it the next day or 2, and then it hit ryker really bad sat and we ended up staying sunday to help him feel better before going home monday. basically we all tried to have fun, but we were all secretly miserable. in the beginning of the month i took a stained glass class, and i love it so much! it is seriously a hobby i could really get into and hope to when the kids get older.
december was similar, it was lots of prep for christmas. we spent a week down with my parents. it was so great to be there for the holidays. we played with lots of toys. the PJ masks figurines and rykers new remote control car were the big favorites this year. more good food, more family fun. i just love being with family. of course we were also able to celebrate Rylies birthday with family. we had a fun little tea party with a set grandma got her and then shared some cake with the family while we opened presents. we sure love our little girl. her birthday stuff i hope to put on a seperate post as i run through pictures.
we did a fun little new years celebration for dinner on the 30th because we were leaving the next day. the kids had fun and we stayed healthy for this trip! we also found out just before our christmas trip that justins work wanted him to come out for 2 weeks in january. oye! now staying at home with 3 kids by myself sounded no fun, so we asked if they could shift his trip a week and then we could drive back to CO and be there when fae got home from her mission.
we made those plans (our 3rd trip to visit colorado in like 6 weeks) and i was super stoked to be with family again, even though i was single parenting it a lot. dani and i worked it out that she would actually come early and surprise my mom and be there the whole 2 weeks with me. so when i dropped justin off at the airport i picked her up and took her back. it was a fun surprise! and the kids had so much fun playing with Lottie and Savannah while we were there. rylie and lottie were quick best friends and wanted to do basically everything together. ryker was great to join in the fun. we did discover that poor lottie and rex did not get along well. im sure its just and age thing. rex expects lottie to treat him like rylie does, and lottie doesnt have an 18 mo at home since savvy is still so young so she expects more interaction like rylie or ryker but rex isnt old enough for that. either way dani and i had a heck of a time trying to just keep them apart so no one caused any fights. its okay. when they get older they will do better. just a weird situation.
my parents left on sunday for washington. they spent a few days with fallyn going through old areas and seeing some of the people she taught before coming home on thursday. while they were gone, dani and i cleaned up the house and prepped for the party weekend. we all met fallyn at the airport, (ehtan and beez flying in just before her and meeting her at the gate before coming on the train... cheaters. ;) ) and then carlee got in a few hrs later. darn work days... but we were all there to say hi as she came home. fallyn finally got to meet rex. she left 2 weeks before he was born and now he is 18 mo. its a big change. haha. even though i sent her lots of pics its still crazy to see in person. but the kids enjoyed it and were crazy through the airport as i knew they would be. thanks mom for having a double stroller i could borrow.
justin flew in that next day on friday so we were finally reunited. and boy did we need it.... after he left for cali 2 weeks prior, the next work day his boss called him in and told him they needed us to relocate to california asap. um.... what? so we got that news about 2 weeks ago and have been apart this whole time and its been rough. but we have been able to talk through things and get over the shock. i admit i had many feelings, but excitement was not one of them. we have never wanted to live in cali, and the few months we had there when he first got the job 4 years ago was a really bad experience. so it took a day or 2 before i didnt cry everytime i talked about it. of course we will do what work wants. its a job and income is very important. but definitely not expected. just to make this situation more stressful we literally just started reno on the kitchen and removed the wall. our main floor is completely torn apart and now we need to move and sell it. um... okay we need to do some work. plus to add more life changing events onto everything, i found out i was pregnant just before thanksgiving and then shortly after christmas we found out it was twins! surprise! so justin was good about talking to his boss and getting some better info (after the shock wore off) and letting them know our situation. though he will still do all his work and get his hours obviously he will need to help with some special appointments because having multiples comes with more appointments and testing. plus he told them we are mid renovation so we need some time to put the house back together. we got a firm date on when we need to be in cali and we will basically work our butts off till then.
so! we have been home for about a week and have been hard at work on the house. things are moving a long at a good pace. i have been working on the bathroom while justin works on the kitchen stuff. basically we work 6 days a week and then can rest on sunday. but we gotta keep moving to make our deadlines! we have 2 months to finish the house and then we want to put it on the market beginning of april. we need to be in cali by mid april. so lots to do!
as far as the extra special testing goes, i had to go see a MFM dr in fargo who specializes in high risk pregnancies. he was super nice and i got another long ultrasound to see my babies. fargo is 4 hrs away, so we drove down sunday night. i had the appointment early mon morning then we drove back that afternoon. i am just over 16 weeks so we were able to learn that we are having a little boy and a little girl. we are over the moon excited. i wanted at least 1 more boy and justin really wanted a girl for rylie. we both got our wish. regardless of gender we would have been thrilled. we know God knows more about what and who is needed in our family than we do, but we are happy that we could have some desires met too. and we get to use both names we had picked out anyway! haha. as stressful as twins may seem we were mentally prepared before the whole move thing happened.
my aunt told me that she was praying for patience and God gave her her twins. so she asked what i was praying for. haha honestly? I was praying for knowledge of Gods plan. justin and i are big planners and we always knew we wanted 4 or 5 kids. (always knowing twins was a possibility) and that as we prepared for our 4th (and last) pregnancy what would that mean. if we had one baby would i always wonder if there was another waiting for our family? but having 4 so close would be crazy i would want to wait to have more and then we couldnt just have 1 more. gah! the planning in my head was very confused. so God gave us twins and yes its 5 kids that are 5 and under, but i know that this completes our family. i feel great about that and so does justin. i am so happy for both blessings to join our family.
plus we get to have a little boy close to cousin kelson, and a little girl close to tricias baby girl due in june.
so now that this post has been forever long. i am going to end and just post it. my pics and videos are still downloading to the computer so i will do pic dumps in the next few mosts, but i am hoping to get that done soon so i can be back on track. sorry to all who read this! and mostly for myself, but its been a busy few months and just got a lot more crazy. so eventually i will get back to the consistent monthly updates, but give me a break if i dont for a few months.
